旅遊日記
you dont really realize how big this world is until you really go see for yourself. riding 16 hours on a plane to go to the other side of the world gives you a pretty good idea. i can totally understand why people hate long distance flights.

besides to going to HK, i also went to various places in china. 深圳, 惠州 (is that how you write it?), 潮州, 黃山, & 杭州. each place is really different from each other. my favourite has to be my mommy's hometown 潮州. just because all my relatives live there and it's so much fun to be around them <3. 深圳 is probably the place that is most developed, since it's very close to hk these two cities are becoming pretty similar. 惠州 probably comes next. compared to toronto and hong kong they really have nothing at all. but at least they have a couple of shopping malls and "tourist attractions". 黃山 & 杭州 are places of tourism but are still very undeveloped. but i think because tourists do come to these cities that in comparison they are better off than 潮州. how ironic, i live in a big city, and my favourite place in china is the least developed one.
one thing i really love about 潮州 is that there aren't many cars because the roads are small and the people there can't afford to own cars. so most people get around via motorcycles. i fell in love with motorcycles! <33
although the traffic there is pretty scary. they have right side and left side of the road marked on the ground, but people tend to drive on whichever side they please. so you could have someone coming directly towards you in the same lane. there are red lights, but again nobody really obeys them. people cross the road whenever they want, and that is really scary because you have vehicles coming towards you in every direction. but i got used to it after a while. XD
one of the things that stuck out to me the most in 惠州 was my cousin took us to a tourist attraction called 西湖. it's basically a body of water where the land around it is decorated nicely so people can come look at it. anyway, outside the entrance you see little girls around the age of 10 wondering around trying to sell flowers. i was told that these little girls were kidnapped at a really young age and forced to sell flowers there everynight. they have no idea where they came from and who their parents are. they hold no future and no way out...
more about my trip next time =) so many interesting things i experienced there.
